The Texas Department of Transportation will add new safety striping to a section of Interstate 30 westbound near Summerhill Road after multiple recent crashes in the construction zone.
Starting this morning, at 9 a.m., crews will apply contrast striping — black backgrounds with white lines — to improve visibility where thru and local lanes divide.
Traffic will be reduced to one westbound lane during the day while work is underway, and the schedule could change depending on weather.
TxDOT is reminding drivers to slow down, obey the 60-mile-per-hour speed limit, and avoid distractions while traveling through the area. The frontage road remains open from State Line Avenue to Kings Highway.
