If you're heading to this weekend's Texarkana Airshow, leave your drone at home. The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a Temporary Flight Restriction over Texarkana Regional Airport during airshow activities, creating a no-fly zone for all drones.
The restriction will be in effect Friday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. during practice, and Saturday from 3:30 to 9 p.m. for the main event. It applies to both recreational and commercial drone operators.
Officials say the restriction is necessary to protect performers, including military aircraft and the U.S. Army Golden Knights. Flying a drone during the restricted hours could lead to hefty fines, criminal penalties, and FAA enforcement action.
