Human remains discovered in a wooded area in Texarkana last summer have been identified as a woman who had been reported missing.
According to Texarkana police, DNA testing confirmed the remains belong to 43-year-old Amber French. She had been reported missing in May after her family had not heard from her since January 2025.
The remains were found in August by a person walking through a wooded area near New Boston Road, along Waggoner Creek, just west of the Walmart.
Police say the case remains an active investigation and extended their thoughts to French’s family and friends.
