The parents of a construction worker killed in an Interstate 30 work zone crash near New Boston have filed a wrongful death lawsuit in federal court.
The lawsuit claims 21-year-old Braden Paul Tucker was operating a skid steer in a marked construction zone on I-30 in Bowie County on August 7, 2025, when he was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler driven by Enork Desilus.
Tucker’s parents allege Desilus failed to move over or slow down in the work zone and was traveling at least 65 miles per hour when the crash happened. The suit also claims video footage shows other drivers safely moving into the outside lane before the collision.
The lawsuit names Desilus, Rollin’ R Trucking and Freight United as defendants and seeks punitive damages and a jury trial.
Desilus has also filed a separate lawsuit against Tucker’s employer, Lakey Inc., claiming Tucker suddenly backed into the roadway, leaving no time to avoid the crash.
