Richard Markeil “Lucky” Henson, one of two men convicted in the 2003 robbery and killing of three employees at the Texarkana Outback Steakhouse, has been denied parole.

The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles cited the brutality of the crime, saying Henson continues to pose a threat to public safety.

Three employees were shot and killed during the Sept. 1, 2003 robbery. The victims were Matthew Hines, Chrystal Willis, and Rebecca Shifflett, who was six months pregnant.

Henson and Stephon Lavell Walter, both former employees, were arrested in the case. Walter was convicted of capital murder in 2004, while Henson pleaded guilty.

Henson will remain in prison, with his next parole review set for April 2031. His projected release date is September 3, 2048.
