Scam and Spam Calls on the Rise in Texarkana

Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 5:49 AM

Scam and spam calls are on the rise in the community, and residents are being urged to stay alert.

Officials say don’t answer calls from numbers you don’t recognize, and never click suspicious links. If you’re unsure, hang up and verify the call using a trusted phone number.

Residents can also register their number at DoNotCall.gov and report suspicious calls.

Scammers often use fear and urgency to get personal information. Slow down, verify before responding, and share these tips with family members who may be vulnerable.
