The Texarkana, Arkansas School District is proposing a year-round academic calendar for the 2026–27 school year.
The district has posted the proposed calendar, an explanatory video from Superintendent Lloyd Jackson, and a feedback survey on its website.
Jackson says the goal is to reduce summer learning loss and better support both students and staff. He notes that several Arkansas districts — including Nashville, Magnolia, El Dorado and Hot Springs — have already seen success with similar calendars.
Residents and parents can fill out the survey through December 16.
