Hooks Police have issued an arrest warrant for 21-year-old Jatoria Renae Cleamons of Texarkana, charging her with injury to a child and manslaughter in the death of her 8-month-old son.
Back on February 4, first responders were called to a home in Hooks, where they found the infant unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead.
Investigators say Cleamons admitted to placing the child in scalding water out of frustration, causing severe burns. The baby died about two weeks later while she was staying with relatives.
An autopsy confirmed the cause of death as thermal injuries and ruled it a homicide.
