Texarkana, Arkansas is stepping up safety measures in its downtown Entertainment District this summer. The police department says select intersections will be blocked off on Friday and Saturday evenings to protect pedestrians. Barricades will go up along Broad Street at Hazel, Walnut, and Wood Streets.
Officers will also increase patrols to enforce district rules—like no drinking in or on vehicles, no glass bottles, keeping noise down, and following curfew laws for minors.
Entertainment District hours are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and until midnight on Sunday. Police say these efforts will help ensure everyone can enjoy downtown safely.
