Three juveniles were arrested after a late-night traffic stop near a Texarkana movie theater led to the recovery of five firearms.
The Texarkana Texas Police Department says a Wake Village Police officer working an off-duty assignment recognized a vehicle linked to recent vehicle burglaries in Texarkana, Arkansas, and Nash. Officer Jacob Miramontes later stopped the vehicle in a nearby parking lot.
Inside were three juveniles, ages 14, 15, and 16. Officers found four handguns inside the vehicle and a fifth handgun hidden under one juvenile's shirt. Police say at least four of the guns had been reported stolen during recent vehicle burglaries.
All three were arrested on charges of Theft of a Firearm and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
Police are reminding gun owners to secure firearms or remove them from vehicles to help prevent theft.
