Police say a woman is facing multiple charges after a crash involving a 3-month-old child early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to a disturbance at a home on Breckenridge Street around 3:30 a.m., where a man reported a physical argument with his girlfriend, 33-year-old Cheyenne Foster, after a night of heavy drinking.

Before officers arrived, Foster left the home with their infant, reportedly heading toward Ashdown. Due to concerns about her level of intoxication, police began searching for her.

Foster later told officers she had been in a crash but refused to give her location. After more than an hour, officers were able to locate her vehicle in a ditch on Hush Puppy Road, just south of the Red River.

Police say Foster was found unconscious in the driver’s seat, while the infant was in the front passenger seat without a car seat. The temperature was about 48 degrees, and the child was wearing only a diaper.

The infant was taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries. Foster was not hurt.

She was arrested and charged with DWI with a Minor Passenger, Child Endangerment, and Assault Family Violence. She was later released from the Bi-State Jail after posting a $180,000 bond.
